Over the last few years we have seen the US markets out perform other geographical regions and with Trump now at the helm, are we going to see this trend continue. The US equities have soared on the back of Trump’s victory and are up in total 27% YTD. In contrast, Europe ex UK equities are only up 5% YTD in USD terms.
All we do know is that the US market will continue to be volatile. Although this may be great for fund managers to add value, it may not be so great for those with a more cautious approach to investing or with a nervous disposition.
