Over 190 lifters competed in the event held near Milton Keynes over the weekend and the win qualifies Alistair to lift in the World Championships to be held in Tokyo in May.

His final lift of 215kgs (474lbs) would have given him the open category win as well however the lift was disallowed with only 1 of the 3 judges deeming it satisfactory.
