In May our financial advisor, Alistair Murdoch, competed in the World Classic Bench Press Championships in Vantaa, Finland. Whilst carrying an injury, Alistair managed to snatch silver with a bench press of 202.5kgs (446lbs).

Earlier this month Alistair headed to Canada to compete in the World Classic Powerlifting Championships for the British Powerlifting team. Run by the internationally renowned International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) competitors from all over the world gathered in Calgary, Alberta to squat, bench press and deadlift.

After a tense battle, Alistair managed to achieve a gold medal in the bench press lifting 207.5kgs (457lbs) and a bronze medal in the deadlift with a 265kg (584lbs) lift. Having started the day with a 242.5kg (534lbs) squat, Alistair finished with the silver medal overall.
